Chlorantraniliprole

Insecticide Chlorantraniliprole

Description

Chlorantraniliprole is a systemic insecticide that provides excellent control of caterpillars and other chewing insects. The word 'systemic' means that when you spray it on your plants, the product gets absorbed into the leaves and stems and moves throughout the plant, protecting it from the inside. This is very effective because it protects the entire plant, and insects that feed on any part of the treated plant will be affected. When you spray chlorantraniliprole on your crops, it works by affecting the muscles of insects, causing them to stop feeding and die. It's particularly effective against caterpillars - those worm-like pests that eat leaves and can quickly defoliate your plants if not controlled. It also works well against other chewing insects like beetles and some sucking insects. One of the advantages of chlorantraniliprole is that it has both contact and stomach action, meaning it kills insects when they touch the treated surface or when they eat treated plant parts. It also has translaminar activity, which means it can move through the leaf tissue to reach pests that are feeding on the underside of leaves. This makes it very effective because it can kill pests that are hiding where regular sprays might not reach. You can use it on vegetables, fruits, and field crops. It's particularly useful for controlling caterpillar outbreaks in crops like tomatoes, peppers, and leafy greens. One of the benefits of chlorantraniliprole is that it's generally considered to be safer for beneficial insects like bees and natural enemies of pests compared to many other insecticides, though you should still avoid spraying when plants are flowering to be safe. It also has good residual activity, which means it continues to work for several days after application. Always wait the required number of days (usually 7-14 days) after spraying before harvesting your crops. Always follow the label instructions and wear protective clothing when using this product.
