Oxyfluorfen

Herbicide Oxyfluorfen

Description

Oxyfluorfen is a selective contact herbicide that can be used both before weeds emerge and when they are very small. The word 'contact' means it works by direct contact with the plant - it kills the parts of the plant it touches. The word 'selective' means it can kill weeds while leaving your crops unharmed, but only if you use it on the right crops. When you spray oxyfluorfen on weeds, they will start to turn brown and die within a few days. It works especially well on broadleaf weeds and some grasses. Oxyfluorfen is commonly used in crops like cotton, vegetables, and fruits. One of the advantages of oxyfluorfen is that it can be used both as a pre-emergence treatment (before weeds come up) and as an early post-emergence treatment (when weeds are very small, just starting to grow). It also has some residual activity, which means it continues to work in the soil for a few weeks after application, providing ongoing weed control. However, it's important to know that oxyfluorfen needs to be applied carefully because it can damage your crops if you spray it directly on them or if you use too much. You must only use it on crops that are specifically listed on the label. Also, it's important to be careful about drift - if the spray drifts onto your crops, it can cause damage. Always spray when the weather is calm, and be very careful not to let the spray drift to areas where you have sensitive plants. Always wait the required number of days (usually 7-14 days) after spraying before harvesting your crops. Always follow the label instructions and wear protective clothing when using this product.
