Tribenuron-methyl

Herbicide Tribenuron-methyl

Description

Tribenuron-methyl is a selective systemic herbicide that kills broadleaf weeds but is safe for certain grass crops like wheat and barley. The word 'selective' means it can kill certain types of plants (broadleaf weeds) while leaving other plants (grass crops) unharmed. The word 'systemic' means that when you spray it on weeds, it gets absorbed into the plant and moves throughout it, killing it from the inside. When you apply tribenuron-methyl to broadleaf weeds, they will start to turn yellow and die within a week or two. It works especially well on annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. One of the advantages of tribenuron-methyl is that it can be used after your crops have already started growing, which is called post-emergence application. This means you can wait to see what weeds come up in your field and then spray them specifically. Tribenuron-methyl is commonly used in wheat fields and barley fields where it's very effective at controlling broadleaf weeds without harming the crop plants. However, it's very important to know that tribenuron-methyl can damage or kill many other crops, so you must only use it on crops that are specifically listed on the label. Also, tribenuron-methyl can stay in the soil for some time and can affect crops that you plant later in the same field. You must wait the required number of days (usually 30-60 days or more) after application before planting other crops in the same field. You can use it on grass crops when broadleaf weeds are actively growing. Always wait the required number of days (usually 7-14 days) after spraying before harvesting your crops. Always follow the label instructions very carefully and wear protective clothing when using this product.
